Raechel Painovich, SPT, is a second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at St. Catherine University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from St. Catherine University, where she was a member and captain of the NCAA Division III women’s hockey team and received numerous academic honors, including Dean’s List recognition, MIAC Academic All-Conference honors, induction into Phi Kappa Phi, and the Antonian Honors Senior Project Award. Raechel has been actively involved in service and leadership through organizations such as The Hidden Opponent, Special Olympics, Feed My Starving Children, and St. Mary’s Smart Clinic. She is currently completing a clinical rotation at TRIA in the outpatient orthopedic setting, treating patients with athletic injuries, chronic pain, cervical and lumbar spine conditions, and overuse injuries. Through this experience, she has gained exposure to advanced rehabilitation techniques and technologies including blood flow restriction (BFR) training, dry needling, and HUMAC testing. Her professional interests include optimizing rehabilitation outcomes through evidence-based exercise prescription, and her current research interests focus on the benefits of exercise for the management of atrial fibrillation.
