About the Speaker
Meryl Cohen
PT DPT FAPTA
Meryl Cohen is an Associate Professor in Clinical PT at the University of Miami. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science, Medical College of Virginia with a Master of Science, and Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is Board Certified as a Cardiopulmonary Clinical Specialist (Emeritus) and teaches topics in cardiovascular and pulmonary PT practice in the entry level and Residency curriculum at UM. She developed the Cardiopulmonary PT Residency at UM and was the former Program Director of that Residency program. Her research interests include physiological responses to exertion in patients with heart and lung diseases. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and numerous Academies within the APTA. Her awards include being a Fellow of the APTA, Mentor Award from the CVP Academy (2021), and UM Senate Faculty Outstanding Teacher (2021)
